My own work-life mosaic
Sue Epstein, PhD, MBA
My career path serves as an example of adaptability and growth. After graduating from Cornell University, I launched my career in financial operations. Driven by a personal interest in marketing, I changed careers and moved into a marketing role at an advertising agency and later with a healthcare manufacturer. During this time, I also earned my MBA from New York University.
The arrival of my first child sparked another change, and I left the corporate world to start a marketing consulting firm. Soon my husband joined me, and we grew the business while expanding our family — demonstrating how professional and personal growth can be complementary.
After a decade of entrepreneurship, I earned a doctoral degree from the University at Albany, SUNY, and embarked on my next career as a university professor.
My journey and my research reflect a deep commitment to understanding and navigating career evolution alongside life’s changes.
